Boston, MA — Comedy-music legend Red Peters returns this holiday season with his latest single, “The Fart That Ruined Christmas,” performed by Red Peters & Family. Known for his audacious novelty hits and appearances on The Howard Stern ShowDr. Demento, and beyond, Peters once again blends sharp musicianship with his signature unfiltered humor — proving that even after decades in the game, he remains the king of adult holiday mischief.A NEW HOLIDAY CLASSIC (SORT OF)Best known for staples like “Blow Me (You Hardly Even Know Me)” and “How’s Your Whole… Family?”Red Peters brings his signature blend of charm and chaos to the holidays with “The Fart That Ruined Christmas.” It marks his newest addition to a hilariously off-color holiday canon that includes fan favorites “The Christmas Gift,” “You Ain’t Getting Sh*t for Christmas,”* and “Holy Sh*t, It’s Christmas.”Part comedy monologue and part musical mini-movie, the track transforms an innocent family gathering into a slapstick, sound-designed spectacle — equal parts absurd and ambitious, packed with storytelling, laughter, and yes, real fart sounds recorded by Red himself.“I’ve had the title, ‘The Fart That Ruined Christmas,’ in my head for almost two years. But that’s all I had,” says Red.Stream the lyric video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ujeF59K6wUPre-save here: https://lnk.to/RedPetersFartLearn more about Red Peters via this recent episode of ‘Window’ Podcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zPu270YGw0Show Quoted Content“I’ve had the title, ‘The Fart That Ruined Christmas,’ in my head for almost two years. After months of writing, editing, and trimming an eight-minute script into a tight musical narrative, the concept finally came to life.“Each day, I whittled away at the script, rewording and shortening it by a few seconds here and there… it was close, but I needed fresh eyes.”He then brought in friend and comedy writer Art Johnson to help punch up the story — the final touch that pulled the whole thing together. When it came time to record, Red went all in: carrying a portable digital recorder in his back pocket for months to capture over 200 original farts of “all shapes and sizes.” After painstaking review, he narrowed them down to a few dozen choice blasts that became the sonic foundation of the song.Backing vocals came courtesy of Ed GrengaLes Sampou, and Gigi Abraham—all members of the extended Handsome Brothers creative family—along with Bobby Jennings, who also played acoustic guitar. Sound design includes everything from giggling children (his grandkids) to a yelping dog, toppled furniture, and even a cameo from Red’s late mother, Helen, whose voice saying “Now, that’s not very nice…”closes the track.“I wanted to create a theater-of-the-mind experience for the listener… it was truly a family effort!” — Red PetersARTWORK BY TIMOTHY SHAMEYThe single’s artwork was created by San Diego–based illustrator and designer Timothy Shamey, whose career began with MAD Magazine in 1995. Since founding Timothy Shamey Illustration and Design in 2001, he’s produced work for clients including the NFL, NIKE, ESPN, Disney, and Madison Square Garden, and even designed logos for teams such as the Detroit LionsCarolina Panthers, and Miami Dolphins.RELEASE DETAILSSingle: “The Fart That Ruined Christmas”Artist: Red Peters & FamilyLabel: Oglio EntertainmentDistributed by: Universal Music GroupFormat: Digital Single (Streaming & Download)Release Date: December 5, 2025
