Featuring new music from both bands, the release includes The Blamed’s “Dislegacy” and “I Refuse To.”Vinyl preorders are available now at theblamedband.com, with orders shipping in December.Ahead of the release, The Blamed have unveiled the music video for “Dislegacy,”offering an early listen before the songs arrive on streaming services in mid-December.Watch “Dislegacy”: YouTubePreorder the split 7-inch: theblamedband.comThe new material has earned early praise for its urgency, aggression and connection to the band’s roots.“The Blamed’s new material harkens back to the raw intensity and uncompromising spirit of the early days of the legendary punk outfit, while honoring the bands and sounds that influenced a generation. It’s a powerful reminder of their legacy and the lasting influence they’ve had on the scene, proving that the same urgency and passion that made them legendary still resonates today.”
— Jeremy Alan Gould, The Rumors Are True Podcast“The Blamed is back … with passion. … Frenetic guitars and drums sound fresh and dirty.”
— Doug Van Pelt, Heaven’s Metal/HM MagazineBrandon Jones, founder and owner of Indie Vision Music, adds:“These two new songs from The Blamed’s upcoming split with Teeth for Eyes are their strongest material in years, and man, it’s good to hear that fire still burning. ‘dislegacy’ and ‘I refuse to’ are heavy and aggressive, with bits of dissonant melody and plenty of pissed vocal delivery that suits this release oh so well. While the songs differ from each other, there’s a cohesiveness that brings it all together—a legendary band still wearing their punk rock ethos proudly on their sleeves.”Formed in Northern California in the early 1990s, The Blamed got their start at Berkeley’s iconic 924 Gilman Street before becoming one of the earliest bands signed to Tooth & Nail Records. Their 1994 debut, 21, was recorded in just 21 hours, followed by the heavier hardcore approach of 1995’s Frail.After relocating to Chicago, the band continued to expand its sound across releases including …Again, Forever, Germany and Isolated Incident, moving into increasingly experimental post-hardcore territory. Extensive touring took The Blamed across North America and Europe before the band returned to Tooth & Nail for 2002’s Give Us Barabbas and subsequently stepped away from recording and touring. The Blamed later reunited with Bryan Grayon guitar and vocals, Jim Chaffin on drums, Sid Duffour on bass and vocals, and Jeff Locke on guitar and vocals. That lineup created The Church Is Hurting People, reconnecting with the intensity of Frail while incorporating the musical range of the band’s later records. The forthcoming split pairs The Blamed with Teeth For Eyes, the Portland band featuring former members of Crux, and offers new music ahead of a planned Blamed full-length, tentatively expected in late 2027 or early 2028.The Blamed — Split 7-Inch ContributionsDislegacyI Refuse ToFollow The Blamed: @theblamed
