| LOS ANGELES, CA — Couch Dog make music for dancing, crying and kissing. On their new standalone single “Rod Sterling,” out October 20, 2026, they add another feeling to the mix: the uneasy thrill of stepping into the unknown.Pre-save “Rod Sterling”: https://too.fm/qre75vrBuilt around the push and pull between fear and acceptance, “Rod Sterling” channels that tension into catchy, punk-inspired garage rock before slipping into a more hypnotic second half. The initial resistance gives way to a meditative post-punk groove, with a dreamy outro and group vocals that turn the song’s restless energy into something more immersive. The band tracked the song’s foundation live together, preserving the immediacy of four musicians playing in a room before adding layers that deepen its atmosphere. The result stretches Couch Dog’s sound into darker territory while keeping the physical energy that has made their shows a gathering place for fans ready to let loose.A music video is in the works, with details to be announced.Originally formed in San Luis Obispo and now based in Los Angeles, Couch Dog are Maxwell Ferrer (lead vocals and guitar), Tasha Lee (bass), Pablo Acosta (lead guitar), and Liam Reece (drums). Their 2023 debut album, How to Ruin Your Life Fast, has amassed more than 11 million Spotify streams, carrying the band’s music far beyond the packed hometown house shows where they got their start. That momentum has followed them onto bigger stages. In 2026, Couch Dog completed a national headline tour, performed at SXSW, supported a sold-out show in The Observatory’s main room in Santa Ana, and headlined Los Angeles’ Troubadour in August. At the heart of it all is a simple invitation: find your people, feel everything, and go absolutely nuts in the mosh pit. As Couch Dog experiment with new textures and a darker sonic palette, that sense of release remains central to their music. “Rod Sterling” offers a fresh entry point ahead of the band’s sophomore album, expected in 2027.Couch Dog will return to the road this fall, with dates across California and the western U.S.UPCOMING SHOWS (get tickets here)November 6 — San Luis Obispo, CA @ The RockNovember 7 — Reno, NV @ The Holland ProjectNovember 8 — Las Vegas, NV @ Copa Room (Tuscany Casino)November 14 — Los Angeles, CA @ 134 S Glenoaks BlvdDecember 4 — San Diego, CA @ Voodoo Room at House of BluesDecember 12 — Santa Ana, CA @ Constellation Room at The ObservatoryDecember 18th – Olympia Washington @ Wild ChildDecember 19 — Portland, OR @ Hawthorne Theatre LoungeDecember 20 — Seattle, WA @ Barboza |
