JAZ KARIS RELEASES PLAYFUL NEW SINGLE “LIFE IS UNFAIR”

Six-song EP, Twenty Something, To Be Released on July 9, 2026

South London songstress Jaz Karis releases a new single, “Life Is Unfair,” today.  The smooth, mid-tempo track features lyrics filled with rueful observations about a friendship gone south.

Jaz says, “A rocky path – you know that feeling you get when you’ve overshared and wished you never told that person so much or let them get so close? Well, this song is that feeling. ‘Life is unfair’ is a conversation about the consequences of breaking someone’s trust & feeling like life has dealt you an unfair hand. I reference my therapist as a nod to me knowing better and feeling annoyed with the situation in retrospect.”

“Life is Unfair” is the first release from Twenty Something, Jaz’s forthcoming EP, set for release on July 9, 2026, her birthday. The EP is a 6-song collection that traces an emotional arc from whimsical nostalgia to vulnerability and loss, culminating in faith and self-belief.

Jaz says, “Twenty Something is a full-circle moment. A return to the sound that introduced me: honest, soulful and rooted in live instrumentation and raw vocals. I unpack the reality of my twenties: love, heartbreak, friendship shifts and faith. Flaws and all.”

Jaz just wrapped dates supporting Leigh-Ann (from Little Mix) on her UK tour, and Jacquees in California, with two forthcoming London dates on deck:

•May 20 – London, UK – Royal Albert Hall (supporting Kojey Radical)
•Aug 2 – London, UK – Jazz Cafe Festival (alongside Ari Lennox, Greentea Peng, Smino, and more)
