“The band draws from the punk side of hardcore — Ceremony, Crass, Refused — and will serve a tasty treat for fans Chat Pile, Idles, Soul Glo, Militarie Gun, and Bob Vylan. There’s post-punk tension underneath the confrontation, hooks buried in the chaos, and the political content isn’t a layer on top — it’s structural.”- Idioteq“Gottlieb’s intensity features a melodic quality derived from when bands like Heroin first emerged.”- New Noise

Fusing the volatile edge of hardcore with post-punk tension, “What Are You Worth?” delivers a confrontational critique of modern capitalism and the widening divide between working people and the ruling class. The song channels the anger and urgency that have come to define Gottlieb’s rising presence in the underground punk scene.“What Are You Worth?” arrives with a striking music video that draws on imagery tied to the elite power structures the band targets in the song. Referencing the ongoing cultural reckoning around the Epstein files, the track and video frame the issue within a broader indictment of the oligarchs and institutions the band believes profit from exploitation and systemic inequality.“What Are You Worth?” is an interrogation of the double-standard that America presents to its working class,” explains vocalist Andrew Pescara“In times of inflation, we are expected to endure stagnating wages but we are also expected to rationalize record corporate profits, increasing cost of living, and longer work hours.“In 2026, this commodification occurs under the shadow of an even more horrific truth: the same oligarchs exploiting the working class are also trafficking our children, and treating this planet as a fucked up all-inclusive resort. We invoke the image of these monsters in this song to point to mounting revolution. It is based heavily on the work of Richard Wolf.”Entirely self-produced — from recording and mixing to artwork — The Far Fallen Fruit captures Gottlieb at their most direct and uncompromising. Drawing from the politically charged lineage of Ceremony, Crass, and Refused, the band deliver a sound that is volatile, hook-driven, and fiercely immediate. Where hardcore’s recent resurgence has sometimes leaned toward aesthetics, Gottlieb use the platform to confront economic precarity, systemic violence, and the psychological toll of modern American life.At its core, the album documents what the band describes as a generational rupture.“Our generation is in an antagonistic, mutually destructive relationship with the United States of America,” says Pescara. “The American Ideal has crumbled, and the American Dream is something we’ve been forced to reject — even while hoping it could still be recovered.”Bassist Dylan Marquez adds: “We are the first generation projected to have a shorter, lower-quality life than our parents. The apple has fallen very, very far from the tree.”Rather than offering nostalgia or reform, The Far Fallen Fruit argues for a break from inherited systems — a eulogy for a collapsing promise and a challenge to build something new.“This album is dedicated to those who are planting better trees, whose shade they’ll never rest beneath,” Pescara says. The band’s momentum continues to build following coverage from outlets including No Echo , New Noise and Idioteq, and a growing reputation for explosive live shows. Gottlieb will also appear at Punk In The Bay (May 23) in California — the counter-festival that emerged after controversy surrounding the Trump-linked Punk In The Park event — alongside several artists who withdrew from the original lineup. The band will support the new single and upcoming album with West Coast dates alongside Filth Is Eternal, followed by a full U.S. tour this summer.Upcoming Shows3/13 — Tacoma, WA @ Real Art3/14 — Corvallis, OR @ CorvMC3/28 — Long Beach, CA @ Dipiazza’s4/7 — Sacramento, CA @ Cafe Colonial w/ Filth Is Eternal4/8 — San Francisco, CA @ Kilowatt w/ Filth Is Eternal4/10 — San Diego, CA @ Tower Bar w/ Filth Is Eternal4/11 — Tijuana, MX — TBA w/ Filth Is Eternal5/2 — Los Angeles, CA @ Oblivion5/23 – Berkeley, CA @ The Gilman (Punk In The Bay Festival)6/10–7/1 — U.S. Tour
